Sharing my story to bring hope, healing, and resilience.
Hi, I’m Brigitte.
I’m a mom to two amazing adult sons, an author, speaker, and certified Martha Beck Life Coach with a Master’s Degree in Education.
My journey began more than 30 years ago when my son Joseph was diagnosed with autism. Like so many moms, I was heartbroken, scared, and unsure what the future would hold. But I let my love for my son guide me through every challenge—and along the way, I discovered the power of resilience, gratitude, and hope.
Joseph is now 33 years old and thriving. Together, we even wrote a book about our journey (you can purchase our book HERE). Through our experiences, I’ve learned that growth often comes through life’s biggest challenges—and that even in the hardest moments, joy is still possible.
I now share the tools and wisdom I’ve gathered through my talks, books, and the Mother’s Guide Through Autism podcast. My mission is to help parents—and anyone navigating life’s “tsunamis”—move from heartbreak to healing, from overwhelm to empowerment.
I felt so devastated when I first got the autism diagnosis of my son. I thought my heart was going to shatter.
I was once on my knees, but I got back up and learned to:
Move through grief and find meaning in pain
Rebuild joy through gratitude and mindfulness
Advocate with courage and compassion
See challenges as opportunities for transformation
These lessons now shape everything I share—from my podcast and membership community to my talks and retreats.
Because when we heal ourselves, we also help our children—and everyone around us—heal too.

“Brigitte helped me deal with my feelings about my son's disabilities and specifically his autism diagnosis that I hadn't really processed. Brigette helped me most with letting go of the guilt from his delayed diagnosis and the feeling that I should have done something more, differently, or sooner. She helped me break down the overwhelming tasks of just getting started to help get him more support. ”
- Jenn

We all get a little lost sometimes. Let her be your compass. I promise you won't regret it. Invest in yourself. You're worth it. I promise.”

A Journey That Inspired a Movement
The name Mother’s Guide Through Autism was inspired by Joseph himself.
When I told him I was starting a podcast, I asked if he could help me come up with a name. After a few moments of thought, he said, “Well, I see a wise old man sitting on a mountain with a long gray beard.” He motioned his hands as if stroking the beard, then added, “Really, it’s more like you’re my tour guide.”
“You mean in your life?” I asked.
“Yes,” he said, “you’ve shown me how.”
That simple exchange became the heart of Mother’s Guide Through Autism—a reflection of the 30+ years I’ve spent being Joseph’s “tour guide” through life, and now, guiding other mothers through theirs.
